Be Your Own Hero

Fall is upon us, finally! I am beyond ready for it. Break out the scarves, hats, and Starbucks! No more big, frizzy hair. No more getting sweaty walking to class. No more seeing girls in Nike Tempo shorts (maybe on that one).
Halloween is two and a half weeks away! I am excited. I've decided to be Pippi Longstocking and Tim is being Waldo! I need to cruise the thrift store and find an old blue dress I can wear. And mismatched, tall socks.

Another great thing about Fall? New Moon November 20th! I will be seeing that at the midnight premier, thank you! I have a Nutrition test the following morning, but let's face the facts. Edward Cullen outweighs carbs and proteins.

One more thing. I've recently discovered that Birmingham has its very own roller derby! I'm thinking I'll definitely being checking this out soon. After seeing Whip It! I need to see what it's all about.

October

October is Breast Cancer Awareness month. This is really important to me, because my grandma had breast cancer. She survived it, but the cancer later spread to her lungs and she, unfortunately, did not survive that. This past weekend was the Race for the Cure in downtown Birmingham and I hear they had a really awesome turnout this year! I was planning on going, but got sick a few days before and couldn't make it out. I think it's amazing that so many people are a part of Susan G. Komen's organization, and hopefully someday we will find a cure.

Fall Break!

I can't believe it's already the middle of the semester! This year is flying by...
Two more classes today and then I am headed back to Birmingham to see Timothy! His birthday is tomorrow, so I'll be posting what I got him later on :) Totally excited for the weekend. Birthday festivities, Breast Cancer walk, double-date with Alan and Meredith!

I hope everyone has a wonderful rest of the day

Welcome

I've finally decided to make a blog and attempt to update it more than once a year. I've been known to start these things and then totally neglect them. I'm planning on posting things about fashion, current events, various issues, and whatever else might interest me. I presume that most people reading this won't know a thing about me, so I'll dedicate this first blog to telling you a little bit about myself.

My name is Stephanie Watson and I am a nursing student at the U of A. I love cold weather, good books, and severely overpriced pumpkin spice lattes from Starbucks. I have been dating the best guy on the planet for two and a half years. I'll marry him someday. I've recently attempted to plant a marigold flower...it's sitting in a little pot by my window. I'm not exactly sure if it will grow...for some reason plants don't seem to like me very much. I read wedding magazines and watch The Hills religiously. I like to say I'm organized, but I'm really not. I listen to pretty much every kind of music. There are a handful of movies I can watch on repeat for days at a time. I tried taking Spanish in high school, only to find out that I can't roll my tongue. I take pictures in my free time and I love to write. I love kids and I hope to deliver babies one day. My mom is my best friend in the entire world. She makes me laugh when nobody else can. I am one of six children and I wouldn't have it any other way. There a million pieces of my life that somehow
all fit together perfectly. Things are finally starting to come together, and I couldn't be happier.
